About LIFT International:
Environmental policy
The message of personal responsibility – for people and planet – is the foundation of everything LIFT International does. As an organisation dedicated to serving the evolution of humanity, we see the need to protect the future of mankind and the future of our planet as one and the same thing. Respecting human beings and the earth is the belief that underpins all of our work.

We are totally committed to protecting the environment through recycling, reusing and reducing waste, in every area of our business, wherever and whenever we can.

Here are just a few examples of our commitment:

• We reuse and recycle everything we can, and avoid all unnecessary waste.
• We built an extension to our business premises using 75 per cent recycled materials.
• All of our printed material is produced using recycled paper.
• We use fair traded products wherever possible: we only drink Café Direct coffee, for example.

In December 2005 we became an official Friend of New Consumer magazin'. New Consumer is the UK's leading fair trade and ethical lifestyle magazine, and we have joined with it to promote the future of fair trade. Our support is helping New Consumer, through its link with the Bolivian fair trade organisation, Irupana, to aid producer co-operatives in the creation of a sustainable future for their families and village communities in the royal mountain range of the Andes.

We also work in partnership with Green Standards, a registered charity that helps businesses develop environmental and corporate social responsibility strategies, and are part of the Authentic Business Network, established to promote more authentic ways of working.

Personal responsibility is all about knowing you have a choice. Higher responsibility is making the right choice: for the planet, for your fellow humans, for the next generation.
